Book Review: The American Patriot’s Almanac

Wow, that is all I can say.  I received a copy of The American Patriot’s Almanac by William J Bennett and John T.E. Cribb for review.

This has got to be the best homeschool history resource book I have ever seen.  The book contains 561 pages of great information laid out by month and day.  I plan to use this book each morning to read aloud to my kids and learn a small tidbit of information about the event listed.  There is a historical event for every day of the year plus extra dates listed below on each page.

Examples of things covered:

Lincoln signs the emancipation proclamation

Arlington National Cemetery

Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis

Longest suspension bridges in the US

Presidential trivia

and tons more.  This book will literally take an entire year to properly digest everything written.

In the back it also lists all of the US States and gives important info about each one such as it’s nickname, capital, population, date entered union, motto, flag, symbols and more.

If you are looking for a great reference book for your homeschool or you home library then this is the one for you.  Seriously, go to the bookstore and take a look.  I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

I received a copy of the book for free to review.  All opinions are my own.
